Min-Ho was born in Gimpo, South Korea, on October 25, 1998. He is an only child. He developed a passion for dance at a young age. He began to train seriously during middle school. Between lessons and recitals, he worked many part-time jobs to support his passion. He graduated from Gimpo Jeil Technical High School in computer science. After that, he managed to pass the entrance exam to Chugye University For The Arts in March 2017. Despite good expectations, he dropped out of university shortly after to focus on his career. In 2016, he appeared in the music videos for BTS's songs Fire and Spring Day as a dancer, and in early 2017, he participated in their Wings Tour, again as a dancer. It was during this period that Min-Ho developed the idea of also wanting to be a singer. So, he remembered that in 2015 he auditioned for JYP Entertainment, but failed to pass. So, he decided to give it another try. The second audition went well and he officially joined the label on July 15, 2017. In early 2018, he finally fulfilled his dream: he officially debuted in Stray Kids.
