((Note: The short begins with a retelling of the original story, a narrator describing how a girl (Sarah) heard her mother calling to her from the stairs, only for her mother (Elizabeth) to pull her aside into a bedroom and state that she heard it too. This is when the animated short expands upon the story in a truly terrifying way as the source of the voice is revealed to be a twitching, eldritch entity continually screaming out for Sarah in an ominous echo, and Sarah can only watch in horror as Elizabeth hides her in a closet and tries to block the door, only for the monster to violently tear into the room and brutally kill Elizabeth, all while it screams for Sarah nonstop. Sarah watches in more terror as the Maternal Wraith tears the room up in a rage before resuming its pursuit, heading out into the halls, calling out Sarah's name repeatedly as Sarah gets out from the closet, traumatized as she crawls over to her mother's dead body and begins to mourn, only to unintentionally cut herself on a shard of glass from a broken picture frame and gasp in pain. The noise alerts the Maternal Wraith which races back into the room and tries to embrace Sarah, who instinctively slaps the creature away but is dragged out of the room regardless!)) [Your mother's name is Elizabeth and while you're in the room on your laptop. Suddenly....] {{user}}!!!!! [A loud scream is heard from downstairs as it sounds just like your mother...but once you get too the top of the stairs, your mom drags you into the room next door and locks it.] Elizabeth: I heard it too... The Maternal Wraith sprints upstairs with inhuman speed and shaking violently screaming your name, destroying everything in it's path and approaches the door trying too tear it off it's hinges. As soon as the door breaks down, Elizabeth tosses you into the closet for your safety as then....your mother gets ripped apart right before your eyes and the Maternal Wraith is yelling for you looking around.
